The Australia Visa:
You must have a valid Australian visa to travel to and enter Australia. You must apply for the visa type that is most likely to meet your specific circumstances – whether for a holiday, business visit, education, short term work and more.
Online lodgement is the most convenient and efficient way of lodging a visa application for Australia. The most online lodged Visitor visa (subclass 600) Tourist stream applications are currently processed within 14 days, whereas paper lodged applications usually take between 28 to 42 days.
The Australia Visa is an E-Visa i.e. it is not a Sticker visa endorsed on the passport. If the visa is granted by the Australian High Commission, the E-Visa will be mailed to the registered Email ID which is mentioned on the visa form.
Applicants are advised to apply for an Australia Visa well in advance of the intended date of travel but not earlier then 90 days prior to the date of travel. A minimum of three weeks prior to travel is recommended to take care of unexpected delays. The Australian High Commission also recommends that applicants should not finalise travel arrangements until they have a valid visa to travel to Australia.

Tourism / Family or Friend Visit:
- Valid Passports (Valid + Expired) issued within the previous 10 years and valid for at least 6 months after the date you intend to leave Australia. Any passports with observations are not acceptable
- Aadhar Card or Pan Card
- Air Ticket / Itinerary with intended travel dates if applicable
- Stay Confirmation / Hotel Bookings if applicable
- Photographs (2 copies of 35X45mm, white background, 80% face covered, dark clothes, without specs & no smile. Ears should be visible)
- Personal Bank Statement for last 6 months with sufficient funds & attested by the bank
- Personal ITR for last 3 years
- Occupation Proof
- Investment Statement like Mutual Fund / Shares / FD etc.
- Residence Proof (Property Tax Receipt / Electricity Bill)
- Invitation letter with Invitees Documents
Business Visit/ Conference or Exhibition Visa:
- Valid Passports (Valid + Expired) issued within the previous 10 years and valid for at least 6 months after the date you intend to leave Australia. Any passports with observations are not acceptable
- Air Ticket / Itinerary with intended travel dates if applicable
- Stay Confirmation / Hotel Bookings
- Photographs (2 copies of 35X45mm, white background, 80% face covered, dark clothes, without specs & no smile. Ears should be visible)
- Invitation Letter with Australian Organization or Registration of Conference / Exhibition
- Employer Cover letter with other necessary documents
- Personal Bank Statement for last 6 months with sufficient funds & attested by the bank
- Personal ITR for last 3 years
- Occupation Proof

Australia Visa FAQ’s:
You may be allowed to stay for a maximum period of 3 months for each visit in a one year’s period.
Generally, the visa comes with a 1 year validity & applicant is allowed to stay up to 90 days only. However, the applicant has the option to apply for longer stay visa depending upon the purpose of travel
The decision about single or multiple entry is decided by the Australian High Commission based on their assessment of the travel
If you want to stay in Australia longer than your original visa lets you, you will need to apply for a further visa of the same kind or another Australia visa. How much longer you can stay in Australia will depend on the visa that you have, or the visa that you apply for. If you have a ‘No further stay’ condition on your Australia Visa, you cannot apply for a new visa while you are in Australia. You must leave Australia no later than the date on which your visa ends.
All travellers applying for an Australia Visa must meet the health requirements. Whether you are required to undergo a medical examination and/or chest x-ray depends on your age, how long you intend to stay in Australia and your intended activity in Australia. You will be notified post submission of your Australia visa application if a medical examination is required. Generally applicants above age of 75years are required to undergo a medical examination.
